Veterinarian or Agricultural Scientist on cow-calf rearing in foster cow systems

University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo), Germany

The Institute for Animal Hygiene, Animal Welfare and Farm Animal Ethology is seeking a dedicated employee with an interest in sustainable livestock farming, particularly calf rearing. This position is within the framework of the collaborative project "Future of Food in Lower Saxony (ZERN)" and is integrated into the junior research group "Sustainable Livestock Farming" (more information can be found at www.zern-verbund.de ). The research project focuses on cow-calf rearing in foster cow systems. The aim is to investigate the effects of this husbandry system on the welfare and health of calves and dairy cows. Analyses of animal behavior will be central to the research.

The possibility of a cumulative doctorate is available.
