Regional Secretaries
Upcoming Regional Meeting 2022
We are planning a regional meeting in Edinburgh on 16 May 2022, directly after the UFAW meeting. It will be held in the city centre, at the Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue Here’s some information about abstract submission, and registration.
Abstract quality and relevance
The ISAE is an animal behaviour society, so it's important to remember that your abstract should be related to animal behaviour science in some way. The first aim of the society, listed in the procedural guidelines is 'to encourage and support basic and applied research into the behaviour of animals as related to the use of animals by humans. This includes domestic, laboratory, zoo, companion, pest and captive animals or managed wild animals'. Work involving all species is welcome at the conference. To help in abstract preparation, we have attached the relevant sections from the procedural guidelines (full draft here). Please review the ISAE ethical guidelines before abstract submission. To expediate the review process we ask that authors include an ethical statement under their abstract, which includes either their Ethical review number and the committee through which it was reviewed, or details of why the work was exempted from ethical review.
How to submit your abstract
Please submit your abstracts via one of the regional secretaries to this address using the title ‘ISAE abstract’ on the email. The file name should be your surname, and it should be submitted as a .doc or .docx file. Also, if you select the student fee when registering, please send proof of student status to this email address.

You can find more detail about the Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue location, and transport links, here. There are a large range of accommodation options located within walking distance. These include:

Conference dinner
Once registration closes we will contact all registered delegates so that we can confirm who is interested and book the restaurant (which will be vegetarian / vegan). The plan is that we will book, but delegates will pay for their own meal and drinks so that no one is tied into a set menu or price that may not suit them.
