  • Ethics Officer (2018-2022)

I am a veterinary scientist and physiologist with a research focus on emotion and cognitive processing in animals. My recent recent work has examined methods of positive welfare assessment, including cognitive and attention biasing. I also have a particular interest in pain assessment techniques and novel biomarkers of pain and welfare state. I am a scientist member of the University of Adelaide arm partnering with the internationally-renowned Animal Welfare Science Centre in Melbourne, Australia. I have been actively involved in animal ethics and performing cost-benefit determinations for a number of years, through my membership of animal ethical committees for research animals. I hope to bring this expertise to the role of ISAE ethics officer.
