Shauntel Statt

 17th Apr 2026

My name is Shauntel Statt, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Animal Science and Behavior at Unity Environmental University. I hold a B.S. in Animal Biology from UC Davis and have experience as a veterinary assistant and as a reservist in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps.

I am seeking a collaboration for my graduate capstone project between April and mid-July 2026 (approximately 12 weeks). I am particularly interested in applied animal behavior, nutrition, and welfare in livestock, zoological, or research settings. My interests include enrichment development, behavior-based welfare assessment, human–animal interactions, and practical welfare-focused management strategies.

The project is designed to produce a real-world deliverable (e.g., report, protocol, or educational material) and can be completed remotely. I am very open to tailoring the project to align with ongoing work or organizational needs and am enthusiastic about gaining applied experience while contributing meaningfully to animal welfare initiatives."

Thank you for your time.

Very Respectfully,

Shauntel Statt
