I hold Bachelors and Masters’ degrees in Fisheries and Aquaculture. My research interests lie in the areas of sustainable aquaculture, fish cognition and general animal welfare.

I teach and research at the Federal University Gashua. I am currently working on finding cost effective ways of reducing stress in fish during long distance transport. Also interested in developing a protocol for aquatic animals during laboratory tests.

I am generally interested in the welfare of farm animals with regards to nutrition, management, slaughter and transport.

I seek research collaboration in the form of PhD Assistantship positions, research associate and open to collaborate on international projects. I am available to travel.

There are nearly 700 members worldwide and each year the Society assembles for a major International Congress, where in addition to addresses by special keynote speakers, members present their latest research findings. There are also regular regional conferences held to encourage local knowledge exchange.
