HSA International Conference 2022

30th Jun 2022 - 1st Jul 2022

Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, Queen Street, Edinburgh UK

The Humane Slaughter Association’s international conference will be held in Edinburgh on 30 June and 1 July 2022.  Our first such event in six years will give attendees the opportunity to present their work, network and socialise in person.

The conference will include submitted talks and poster presentations, alongside keynote talks.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Bob Elwood (Emeritus Professor Queen's University, Belfast)  on Pain and Suffering in Decapods
  • Will Jackson (Chief Strategy Officer, AHDB   Talk title to be confirmed
  • Claire White (Senior Veterinary Advisor, NFU) on the Demonstration of Life Protocol: Development and Launch in the UK

We know from talking to you that many people have been missing the face-to-face element of meetings and that there is a real appetite for a ‘return to normal’. HSA will be following best practice and the latest COVID guidance from the Scottish Government and that of the venue. Places will be limited, so please register early to ensure your place.  For those who cannot travel to Edinburgh and wish to watch the talks online, registration is free (but we suggest a minimum donation of £20 to support costs associated with streaming the meeting). Only people who attend the meeting in person will be able to present their work.

Registration is now open.
