Upcoming Regional Meetings
We are delighted to announce that registration for the 2026 ISAE UK & Ireland Regional meeting is now OPEN! The meeting will take place on 21 April 2026 and be held at University of Nottingham, Sutton Bonington Campus, Nottingham (UK).
You can register on eventbrite. Cost of attendance is £45 for full paying members and £33 for student members (incl booking fees). This includes tea/coffee and a lunch on the day.
The event promises to be an action packed day; we have three fabulous invited speakers:
- Dr Ilyena Hirskyj-Douglas from University of Glasgow will be joining us at the regional meeting as our keynote speaker for a talk entitled 'What Happens When Animals Control Technology?' More information is available here; but the talk will explore what giving animals agency over technology reveals about their social cognition and decision-making abilities, and how using computers affects their own and their human companions’ behaviours.
- Dr Louise Evans from University of Bristol will be hosting a workshop entitled ‘Judgement Bias: Windows into Animal Emotion and Cognition’ where you will have the opportunity to learn more about judgement bias and the role it plays in animal cognition and welfare, and explore experimental paradigms which can be used to measure judgement bias
- Dr Lisa Yon from University of Nottingham will be hosting a workshop on qualitative behavioural assessment (QBA) and it’s utility from the perspective of the Five Domains model of animal welfare, including how QBA data can be interpreted
