Post-doctoral position on social network analysis and animal behavior

The focus of this position will be on research utilizing a social networks approach to understand the relationship between animal disease and social relationships, using a livestock model. Specific projects involve characterizing proximity-based social networks in dairy calves over time, and examining the relationship between individual cases of respiratory disease and social dynamics.
The successful candidate for this position will work with both the Animal Behavior and Welfare research group in the Department of Animal Sciences, University of Florida (UF), led by Dr. Emily Miller-Cushon, and with Dr. Raffaele Vacca within the Network Science Lab hosted at the UF Bureau of Economic Business and Research (BEBR) and the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). UF is a US top-ten public research university located in Gainesville, Florida.
Responsibilities for this position will involve leadership in management and analysis of data generated from animal research, scientific writing, and close collaboration with graduate students and project directors.
