Mr Uddin has a doctoral degree (PhD) focusing on Infrared thermography- could it be used to indicate behavioural responses of emotion and productivity in dairy cows?” from the Centre for Animal Welfare and Ethics, School of Veterinary Science (SVS), the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, awarded in the year 2021 (30 July). He was directly involved in the experimental design, data collection, analysis and publications of findings. In short, he evaluated cows’ behaviours (Flight Speed, Crush Scores and Forced lateralisation test), milk productivity, rectal temperature and infrared thermography of key external body surface regions, such as eyes, using a large number of cows (260) from the UQ Dairy herd, across 3 consecutive periods, once a month apart. This was a follow-up experiment of a pilot study on some extreme left (15) and right (16) lateralised cows of that herd. He has published several journal papers in related international peer reviewed journals (Applied Animal Behaviour Science Journal, International Journal of Biometeorology and others). He also has work experience as a Casual Academic and Casual General Assistant at the SVS, UQ. Formerly, he had a graduation degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a post-graduation in Master of Science in Surgery from the University of Rajshahi and Bangladesh Agricultural University, respectively.
