I was the ISAE Assistant Secretary and was previously regional secretary of the ISAE Latin America Region (2017-2019). I have experience as a researcher in the areas of farm animal welfare assessments and applied animal behaviour for precision livestock farming, most recently working with Dr Yolande Seddon´s team at the University of Saskatchewan in the development of methods for pig welfare assessment on-farm and at the abattoir. I also work as an independent farm animal welfare consultant for international food companies and animal welfare NGOs.

There are nearly 700 members worldwide and each year the Society assembles for a major International Congress, where in addition to addresses by special keynote speakers, members present their latest research findings. There are also regular regional conferences held to encourage local knowledge exchange.
