Regional news

11th North American Regional Meeting of the ISAE * May 11-12, 2012 * Banff National Park, Canada

Invitation:

We are pleased to invite you to the 11th North American Regional Meeting of the ISAE, which will be held at the beautiful Banff Centre, located in Banff National Park. The meeting will open at 12:30pm on Friday, May 11th and conclude at 6pm Saturday May 12th.  Complete information (including keynote speaker, travel and accomodations, abstract and registration details) can be obtained by clicking here.

Abstract Guidelines and Deadlines:

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations will be accepted from February 1- March 23. Presentations are invited dealing with any aspect of the behaviour of domestic or exotic captive animals as applied to their use or management by humans. Please note the following guidelines for submitting abstracts:

  1. Abstracts should be submitted to Dr. Jennifer Brown () no later than March 23rd 2012, with the e-mail heading reading: NA-ISAE ABSTRACT.
  2. For each abstract CLEARLY indicate whether it is for an oral or poster presentation.
  3. Identify the presenting author with an asterisk and please note whether the presenting author is a graduate or undergraduate student. Depending on the number of student submissions, a competition will be held for the best student oral and poster presentations.
  4. Abstracts should consist of a title, names of authors (please include full first names not just initials), author institution addresses and contact e-mail of the corresponding author who should be identified with an asterisk. The main body of text should be single spaced, consist of a single paragraph of no more than 300 words in length written in Times New Roman font size 12. Abstracts must contain a clear statement of the purpose of the work, the methods used, (including the number of animals and/or experimental units), the results obtained and the conclusions. Results must be presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusions drawn. Except for theoretical contributions and review papers, submitted abstracts must contain data, indicate the method(s) of analysis and provide information on the statistical significance. References, tables or figures should not be included. Abstracts must be submitted in the Microsoft word format and the file should be named “ISAE Abstract YOUR SURNAME.doc.”
