Recruiting a pig welfare expert to produce a technical report to assist Humane Society International/Europe (HSI) in determining what our ‘red lines’ should be with respect to minimum welfare standards for commercial pig production and identifying pig husbandry systems that present a ‘gold standard’ to which producers should aspire.

The consultant must have a background in pig welfare research and/or practical experience with high-welfare pig farming systems.

The project should begin in October 2022 and be completed no later than 31st December 2022. Interested parties should submit a proposal that includes:

1) a Curriculum Vitae highlighting their qualifications, including prior experience with similar projects;
2) desired daily rate and the expected number of working days needed to deliver the outcomes above.
