Shelter Behavior Training Liaison

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), USA

The Shelter Behavior Training program, a new initiative in 2021, will be the only program in the country providing the critical combination of knowledge, skill, and experience necessary to successfully launch a career as a shelter behavior specialist. The program is offered through the ASPCA’s Learning Lab (LL), with the Behavioral Sciences Team providing subject matter expertise. The BST Liaison is responsible for contributing to curriculum development, reviewing content, and coordinating coaching opportunities with behavior teams at ASPCA facilities. The BST Liaison fosters strong relationships with colleagues across the ASPCA and functions seamlessly and effectively within the organizational culture of holistic animal care, with sound judgment, open communication, and a commitment to diplomacy and collaboration.
