Research Internship – MonoGutHealth project
Weaning is a critical step in pigs’ life. Pigs face multifactorial challenges which lead reduced feed intake, impaired gut development and a high incidence of diarrhoea. We will investigate various management and nutritional strategies to reduce weaning stress and facilitate the transition from liquid sows’ milk to solid feed. Measurements will include growth, gut microbiome development, gut histology and gene expression, individual feed intake and feeding behaviour.
Duration: 4 to 6 months – tentative starting date in 15th November 2021 (flexible)
This position is not paid and is meant for students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program only!
