PhD student position on Animal Behavior and Welfare

The Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for a PhD student with an emphasis in Animal Behavior and Welfare. The student will be advised by Dr. Courtney Daigle at Texas A&M University, will be expected to start in Fall 2023, and will collaborate with multiple faculty members within and outside of TAMU.
The student will work with a commercial robotic milking dairy to identify cows that can take the heat without skipping a beat (e.g., non-invasive phenotypic indicators of heat stress). The student will gain experience working with robotic milking systems, body-mounted sensor technology, dairy reproductive software, environmental data, video analytics, and database development.
