Lisanne Stadig

Lisanne is a PhD student at the Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Ghent University. She completed a BSc in Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University, and an MSc in Animal Sciences at Wageningen University. In her PhD, she focuses on the welfare and behaviour of free-range broiler chickens, studying e.g. shelter type preferences and different rearing strategies to promote free-range use. There are nearly 700 members worldwide and each year the Society assembles for a major International Congress, where in addition to addresses by special keynote speakers, members present their latest research findings. There are also regular regional conferences held to encourage local knowledge exchange.
