Lisanne Stadig

Lisanne is Policy Officer Farm Animals at the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals (Dierenbescherming). Before that, she completed a PhD at the Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Ghent University. In her PhD, she focused on the welfare and behaviour of free-range broiler chickens, studying e.g. shelter type preferences and different rearing strategies to promote free-range use. She has a BSc degree in Veterinary Medicine from Utrecht University, and an MSc degree in Animal Sciences from Wageningen University. Lisanne can be contacted at .

There are nearly 700 members worldwide and each year the Society assembles for a major International Congress, where in addition to addresses by special keynote speakers, members present their latest research findings. There are also regular regional conferences held to encourage local knowledge exchange.
