Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Madison, USA

The Department of Animal & Dairy Sciences is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Companion and Working Animal Biology. The successful candidate will provide leadership in curriculum development, with the objective of offering a portfolio of lecture and laboratory courses and out-of-classroom activities that will prepare our students for careers in veterinary medicine, careers with companies in the companion animal health and nutrition industries, careers with organizations that provide service, rescue, or emotional support animals, and related enterprises. Depending on the individual’s expertise and interests, their teaching program may consider the health, welfare, behavior, nutrition, physiology, or genetics of canine, feline, equine, or other companion and working animal species. The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out impactful research in companion and working animal biology, secure extramural funding, and publish high-quality manuscripts in leading journals. The specific discipline and species focus of the candidate’s research will depend on their interests; their research can be independent or collaborative, and it can be laboratory, clinical, or field based.
