Announcing ISAE Student Webinars!
The ISAE Student Representatives welcome all ISAE members to attend the first ever ISAE Student Webinar! The online event will be held via Zoom on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 8:00 PDT.
We see an opportunity to bolster a community of scientists who are keen to learn together throughout the year. We also recognize that traveling to conferences can be expensive; thus we can use technology to create a more inclusive organization. The aims of the webinars are:
- To promote a dialogue about research in applied ethology throughout the year.
- To offer another opportunity for students to practice giving presentations.
All ISAE members are welcome to attend the webinar which will last 1 hour, and feature 4 presenters (each student speaking 10-12 minutes). At the end of the each presentation, we will open the floor for 3-5 minutes of questions from the webinar audience. One or both of the student representatives will help facilitate the webinar.
We are seeking abstracts for oral presentations by ISAE student members about novel research findings in applied ethology and animal welfare. The abstract must not exceed 3500 keystrokes, including 500 keystrokes for the title, authors and affiliations. If the latter exceeds 500 keystrokes, the available keystrokes for the abstract text are reduced accordingly. The title can contain a maximum of 125 keystrokes.
When preparing your abstract, please follow ISAE's Abstract Submission Standard which
is Appendix II of ISAE's Procedural Guidelines. It may also be useful to view the Guide for Reviewers fo Abstracts when preparing your abstract (Appendix III of the Procedural Guidelines). Pay particular attention to the ISAE Ethical Guidelines and address any potential ethical concerns in your abstract.
Thepresenting author must be an ISAE student member and be identified when submitting the abstract.
Abstracts will be accepted via email to Laura Whalin () and Allison Pullin (). Abstracts will be selected based on creativity, scientific rigor, and compliance with ISAE ethical standards.
