Welcome to the Home page of the UK/Ireland Region of the International Society for Applied Ethology! The ISAE is a scientific society that focuses on the study of applied animal behavior covering topics such as farm animals, wildlife management, companion and laboratory animals, control of pests, human-animal interactions, and animal welfare. From this site you will be able to access information on present and future ISAE activities, and other relevant information on news and events, in the UK/Ireland region.

On the 21st February 2012 the UK and Ireland Regional Meeting of the International Society for Applied Ethology (ISAE) will be held at Harper Adams University College. The meeting will be preceded by an evening reception on the Harper Adams campus (February 20th).
The deadline for abstract submission is now closed and the final programme is available
The deadline for registration (including payment) is 1st February 2012 (Click here for Registration form)
We are offering 3 registration packages:
Package 1
Welcome reception, accommodation at the International Hotel, Telford and conference (includes minibus transfers between Harper Adams and the hotel, but excludes breakfast) for £90
This package was only guaranteed until 6th January 2012 and is now subject to availability
Package 2
Conference only (i.e. day delegate) for £32
Package 3
Welcome reception and conference (i.e. delegate arranges own accommodation) for £38
Students
There is a student discount of £15 (which applies to all 3 packages) for the first 20 students to register. After this students will need to pay the full price so get registering asap!

After a period without a regional meeting, we were pleased to host the UK and Ireland Regional Meeting of the International Society for Applied Ethology (ISAE) at Harper Adams University College on 14th January 2010. The annual Course on Animal Welfare Science, Ethics And Law that is held at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, UK, will this year run between 12-24 September 2010.
Through a combination of lectures, videos and discussions, this course is designed to cover the curriculum for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon's"Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law: Introduction and Theory" Module. However, it is also suitable for those just interested in learning about/updating their knowledge of animal welfare. Past attendees have included veterinarians (working in practice or for government or animal charities), animal welfare researchers and students, and animal charity workers/campaigners, and have come from a wide variety of countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the USA.
The Course, made up of five Sections, is taught by academics and professionals from many universities and organizations: Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge; Department of Biomedical Science and Biomedical Ethics, University of Birmingham; Department of Law, University of Aberdeen; Department of Veterinary Science, University of Bristol; Department of Life Sciences, Anglia Ruskin University; Department of Biological Sciences, University of Lincoln; Chester Zoo; Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
