IAN Duncan of the University of Guelph in Canada, has been named as the first recipient of the Universities Federation for Animal Welfare's (UFAW's) medal for outstanding contributions to animal welfare science.

The Chimpanzee & Human Communication Institute (CHCI) is currently taking applications for our Summer Apprentice Program. Graduates, undergraduates, and post-graduates from various academic backgrounds (e.g. Anthropology, Biology, Psychology, Linguistics, Philosophy, etc.) and all nationalities are encouraged to apply. The dates of the program are June 26 to August 19, 2011.

The Campbell Centre for the Study of Animal Welfare and the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph are pleased to be hosting the 5th International Workshop on the Assessment of Animal Welfare at Farm and Group Level (WAFL).
